Technology is something that has to have meaning to make it impactful for everyone, especially young minds. Using technology in math is a great way to teach students to value technology as a tool, and not a toy. Continuing to model, teach and practice with tactile manipulative will help younger minds, but with the use of technology will make it meaningful to them and in terms they know. It's knowing how to use it and teach others to use it in a meaningful way.

Exploration and identification of mathematical concepts can be differentiated for all students through technology. Technology is merely a tool for learning. It is vitally important that opportunities for concrete exploration via use of manipulatives are available to lay the foundation for any understanding of key mathematical concepts. Technology can powerfully enhance students' sense making, becoming the bridge that helps transition their thinking from the concrete to the abstract.
