A beneficial advantage to having lectures as podcasts is that they are available anytime, anywhere beyond a classroom setting3. This allows students to take their schoolwork wherever they go, for example, on a drive or to the gym. Lecture based podcasts allow students to go back and listen to the information as many times as needed, whereas in person lectures if you miss content it is much more difficult to recover that information. In a constructivist view of learning, knowledge is constructed through active exploration, observation, processing and interpretation3. All of these characteristics are present in podcasts through the following strategies: 
o   Podcasts can try to create a case to mimic real life scenarios.
o   It is common for podcasts to end on a cliff-hanger, if this happens it can give the learner a chance to hypothesize how the podcast could end. 
o   Multiple perspectives, opinions, topics or problems could be presented in the podcast. This could influence to the learner to seek out more information, determine which viewpoint they agree or not agree with or develop their own perspective3.  
o   Experts can weigh in on conversation and provide a more proficient standpoint.
