This whole book was written on behalf of making big changes in society that have big impacts. Ruth draws attention to the African Americans to realize her incident could make changes in everyones life. Kennedy finally realizes that she was prejudice in more ways than she thought, therefore, she tries to make changes in her life. Turk is in court fighting over his son that is dead, and that made him realize that living his life filled with hatred will not bring him happiness. Nor, will it bring back his son, therefore, this gives him a sense of closure finally.
