This is like a folder that stores, and pull in sources that I've chosen, and is able to make sense of the info.

Notebook LM has a similar user interface like Pair chat and ChatGPT, and allows the user to include sources like articles and research papers.

I found the study guide and mind map useful as it caters to different learning styles.

What did you find out about the tool?
It's pretty similar to other generative AI tools out there / used in MOE, and students would require a lot of support to navigate.

Which features did you find useful?
The addition of resources to generate responses based on is pretty useful. Also, the generation of notes would be helpful to summarise discussions and review learning.

How did that help you in learning the content?

The FAQs were especially helpful in reinforcing certain ideas and in learning content based on what learner is curious about (narrows down content based on what learner wants to know). Good if these notes can be downloaded as documents or presentation slides.

I learnt how to bake a basque cheesecake.

I discovered the sources, and explored generating a recipe to make a basque cheesecake in simple language.

The generated output was clear and structured, and it was able to respond to my queries and offer logical responses.

I learnt about urban sketching tips for beginners and urban sketchers scene in Singapore.

I explored "discover" (so many kinds hahahha- blogs, youtubes, workshop links, news, reddit) generating of mind-maps, chat functions.)

I feel that starting with what interest me, and being able to zoom in easily helps me!

Baking different types of cakes

Upload different types of sources (youtube and link), chat features, and generation of quiz

I am able to ask questions that can be inferred across the recipes, for instance which cakes are cheaper to make or which cakes are sour. The quiz drills into questions to test my knowledge, for instance "What unique characteristic of the "EASY and HEALTHY Chocolate CAKE" sets it apart from more traditional cake recipes?"

How to organise a car meet

Pedagogical value: study notes designed based on students' needs, readiness, capacity, learning style, and goals (using interactive podcast function and connecting questions with sources to evaluate questions and responses)

NotebookLM is very useful for generating materials from a fixed source material, but other use cases where real time data or information is required, other LLMs would be more useful.

Combination of LLMs and notebooklm could be extremely powerful in helping to create targeted content
