For her online learning experiences, time management was her biggest challenge, so I recommend that she spend a week tracking her time closely so that she knows where she's really spending her time and is able to divvy that time up better. Low vision makes face-to-face and online courses a struggle even with disability accommodations. Starting on assignments early would help with the stress level of having enough time to find help with reading textbooks. Rusty also feels disconnected with teachers and peers in online learning. One tactic would be to review the class syllabus early on and identify what demands will be made down the line, and get proactive. If you have the flexibility to choose your group, do it early on instead of waiting. If you are assigned a group, reach out to them as soon as possible to get the ball rolling. My interviewee identified a lack of due dates and staying on task as two challenges, so my advice is to "make your own due dates!" and set goals for completion of different parts of the course. Hannah had already mentioned Trello, but I found another free  tool called Click-up that can be used collaboratively to set goals and track progress on those goals. It also syncs with calendars and has options to set reminders.

I have found that having a positive relationship and creating a community with my classmates is extremely beneficial. My learner is trying to set up a health and wellness ecommerce website and make money off of content marketing.  In conjunction with the class it could be helpful to use a project management tool called MeisterTask.  This could help him view his class as essential to his long term goal.  He could put what he is learning from the class on this project management tool and also what he wants to make money off of.

Printing out the assignment expectations has always helped me. It gives me a sort of check list to mark off parts that I've completed. I also write dates in my planner. I love using technology and my phone/computer (I've used Google Keep occasionally) but I feel like to stay organized I just need to write it down. I use my teaching planner to write these in so that I can help balance my time.
