As we come to the end of another lovely half term at Leigh St Peter’s, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our children, families and staff for making me feel so welcome as the new Headteacher. It has been wonderful getting to know our children and families over the past few weeks and I am already incredibly proud to be part of such a caring and supportive school community.

I hope you all have a fantastic half term break with your families. The weather forecast is looking like an absolute belter, so fingers crossed we all get the chance to enjoy some sunshine!

A quick reminder that Monday 1st June is an INSET day so children will return to school on Tuesday 2nd June, ready for the final part of the summer term.

As we move into the second half of the summer term, we also have some important assessments taking place across school. Year 1 children will complete their Phonics Screening Check, Year 4 children will take part in the Multiplication Times Table Check and our Year 6 children will be involved in Writing Moderation.

It is therefore really important that children attend school every day and that term-time holidays are avoided wherever possible, to ensure all children have the very best chance to succeed.
