Perseus was born in a bronze house then locked in a chest with is mother and was sent out to sea. Percy's dad got "lost at sea," and his grandparents died in a plane crash before he was born. His mom then married smelly Gabe who was a mean, abusive, alcoholic. Percy also suffered form ADHD and dyslexia. 
Perseus and Percy both had one of the, big three gods, as their father. Perseus's being Zeus and Percy's being Poseidon. 
Percy went to many private schools for bad kids while Perseus never went to school at all. 
Perseus's grandpa hated him and tried to hunt him down and kill him. Percy had many monsters trying to hunt him down and kill him, like the minotaur, the furies, Echidna, Chimera, Medusa, Cerberus, and Procrustes.
Percy and Perseus were both demigods. 
Perseus and Percy both had to retrieve something from someone. Percy had to get the bolt form Hades while Perseus had to get Medusa's head. 
Both Perseus and Percy didnt really refuse their call, but the were both worried about what could happen along the way.
Perseus didn't bring anyone with him on his journey, but he got a sword, Hades helm of darkness, flying sandals, and a shield from the gods. Percy brought Annabeth and Grover, and got a pen that his father gave Mr.Brunner to give to him that turned into a sword, and Luke gave him basketball sneakers that could fly, like Perseus's sandals.
Percy left Camp while Perseus left an island
Percy had a lot more trails then Perseus, for instance having to get passed or defeat all the Mythological creatures.
Percy and Perseus both completed their call to action. Percy returned Zeus's lightning bolt and Perseus got medusa's head.
Perseus's reward was Medusa's head and Percy's reward was getting a chance to see and talk to his dad and he got his mom back.
Perseus heads back home and Percy goes back home to see his mom then back to camp
Luke and Percy go to the creek. Luke summons a scorpine that stings Percy. Perseus's mom was going marry King P.
Chiron heals Percy and he goes home to his mom. They decide to use Medusa's head to turn Gabe to stone. Perseus used Medusa's head to turn King P and King Argos to stone.
Percy lived with his mom and during the summer he went camp half-blood. Perseus became king.

"Look at your symbol, the eagle of Zeus. Look at the statue of Prometheus in Rockefeller Center, the Greek facades of you government buildings in Washington.'' (73) In the book he also made the greek gods sound like they  looked like. Humans that could turn into who they really were. "The man facing me was small, but porky. He had a red nose, big watery eyes, and curly hair so black it was almost purple." (62) "He wore a tiger-pattern Hawaiian shirt,..." (62) Rick made this guy sound like he was an ordinary guy who had really dark hair and had some wonky shirts, but he was really Dionysus. The god of wine. "Then I recognized the tweed jacket, the thinning brown hair, the scraggly beard. Mr.Brunner! I cried. The Latin teacher turned and smiled at me." (62-63) Rick made Mr.Brunner sound like he was really a Latin teacher when he was really a human that could turn into a centaur. "An old lady had just boarded the bus she wore a crumpled velvet dress, lace gloves, and a shapeless orange-knit hat that shadowed her face, and she carried a big paisley purse. When she tilted her head up, her black eyes glittered, and my heart skipped a beat. It was Mrs. Dodds." (160-161) Rick made Mrs.Dodds sound like the looks of an innocent old lady when she and the other to old ladies behind were really furies in disguise. "Then the door cracked open, and standing in front of us was a tall Middle Eastern women-at least, I assumed she was Middle Eastern, because she wore a long black gown that covered everything but her hands, and her head was completely veiled. Her eyes glinted behind a curtain of black gauze, but that was about all I could make out. Her coffee-colored hands looked old, but well manicured and elegant, so I imagined she was a grandmother who had once been a beautiful lady. Her accent sounded vaguely Middle Eastern, too." (172) Rick made Aunty Em look like a regular old women who liked to help anyone in distress when she really wanted to turn them into stone gnomes because she was really Medusa. "We got shoehorned into the car with this big fat lady and her dog, a Chihuahua." (205) Rick made this women seem like a normal women who wanted to bring her Chihuahua to the top of the Arch to enjoy a nice view, but the fat lady was really Echidna and The Chihuahua was really Chimera. "He was dressed in a red muscle shirt and black jeans and a black leather duster, with a hunting knife strapped to his thigh. He wore red wraparound shades, and he had the cruelest, most brutal face I'd ever seen-handsome, I guess, but wicked-with an oily black crew cut and cheeks that were scarred from many, many fights." (225) Rick make it sound like this dude is the head of a really scary motorcycle gang when he is really, Ares, the god of war. "He was at least seven feet tall,with absolutely no hair. He had gray, leathery skin, thick -lidded eyes, and cold reptilian smile." (277) "The shirt was silk paisley, unbuttoned halfway down his hairless chest. The lapels on his velvet jacket were as wide as landing strips. The silver chains around his neck-I couldn't even count them. I'm Crusty, he said,..." (277) Rick makes Crusty sound like a guy who works at a casual waterbed store just trying to get some money. He is really Procrustes. A creature who stretches people out when they are to short and cuts off their limbs when they are to long.

(299) Percy, Annabeth and Grover made it into the underworld and there first challenge was getting passed Cerberus the three headed dog. Percy at first tried to play fetch with him. Then Annabeth pulled out a red ball and he was very interested in that. Annabeth had a special bond with Cerberus and this quote shows that. When I read this quote it really made me think about the real world. In the world there are many scary bad people, but even the biggest baddest people have a heart that can be touched. Cerberus is of course a scary animal but this quote shows he has a soft spot. Percy's sword slipped out of his hand and through  a hole in the Arch into the Mississippi River. At that moment he knew he was defenseless. Chimera started sending flames toward Percy's face and at that moment Percy knew he had to find a way out of it, and quick. " ...my blade flew out of my hand, spinning out of the hole in the Arch and down toward the Mississippi River." (209) "Chimera sent a column of flame towards my face." Echidna kept mentioning he was the son of Poseidon so he shouldn't be afraid of a little water. As Percy looked out the hole, he thought about jumping, but the fact he would being jumping from more than a few stories high and he didn't know if he would actually survive, scared him a little bit. As Chimera's column of fire came toward him, he prayed for his father to help him and jumped. "Father, help me, I prayed. I turned and jumped. My clothes on fire, poison coursing through my veins, I plummeted toward the river." When they got up to the door a middle eastern women greeted them and invited them to her dinning room to get some food. " Go straight through to the back of the warehouse, please. There is a dinning area." (173) Percy knew something was up when she looked the door behind them. "...or the fact that Aunty Em had locked the door behind us." (174) Percy, Annabeth, and Grover find out Aunty Em, is actually Medusa. Medusa was about to lung at them so they had to do something fast. "Medusa was about to lunge at him   ..." Percy remembered how Medusa died in the myth and used a glass ball he found to look at her reflection. He started inching closer but he was too late. Medusa lunged at him with her talons. Percy swung his sword at her not knowing if he would even hit her. Then he heard a weird noise and something fell to the ground next to his foot. "I slashed up with my sword, heard a sickening shlock then a hiss like wind rushing out of a cavern-the sound of a monster disintegrating. Something fell to the ground next to my foot. It took all my willpower not to look. I could feel warm ooze soaking into my sock, little dying snake heads tugging at my shoelaces." He sets off on a big quest to get Zeus's lightning bolt from hades before the three big gods break out in a big tragic war. "So I have to find the stupid bolt, I said. And return it to Zeus." (138) "For the first time, the quest felt real. I was actually leaving Half-Blood Hill." (155) I think Percy started to let loose a little after he met Annabeth,and learned who Grover, Mr.Brunner and, Mr.D really were. Annabeth started helping him use his dyslexia to his advantage and read the only words that didn't really jumble up in his head, Greek. He got his first chance to see and talk to his dad who didn't actually get lost at see. He got his mom back after she was killed by the Minotaur and vanished to the underworld. He also got the chance to turn Gabe into what he was meant to be, a gnome. Percy was able to defeat or get passed everything that got in his way, weather it was the god of war, a hotel trap, or a three headed dog, Percy pushed his way to the end where he accomplished his greatest achievement."So I told Zeus everything, just as it happened. I took out the metal cylinder, which began sparking in the Sky God's presence, and laid it at his feet." (342) "The last thing I saw as the door swung closed was my mother staring at Gabe, as if she were contemplating how would look as a garden statue." (353) "...as I passed, they knelt, as if i were some kind of hero."
