- The people shall be able to believe what they want, try to fix what they want, and come together PEACEFULLY.
- People are allowed to have weapons to defend themselves, and the government shan't take that away.
- Soldiers will not be housed in the homes of others without their permission.
- Neither people nor property shall be taken away unless there is a reason for it, and that reason must be official.
- People cannot be punished for a huge crime without the consent of a grand jury. They can't lose their freedom, possessions, or very lives without due process of law. Property cannot be taken for the use of the public without just compensation.
- People accused of something are allowed to have be tried in public with an unbiased jury. They have the right to have their own witnesses and defense as well.
- All trials will include a jury, and the jury's decision is final- the courts will not review it.
- Excessive bail nor cruel and unusual punishment cannot be legalized.
- NONE of the rights specified in the constitution will hurt any of the other rights.
- The powers not given to the national government will be given to either the people or the state.
- No state will try a person from another state, and the US won't try people from other countries.
- The people shall vote for whoever they see fit as president, and whoever has the most votes wins. If necessary, Vice President will become president.
- Forced servitude will not be legalized unless it is a punishment that is obviously earned. This will be enforced in any legal way possible.
- In order to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen and of proper age, and there can be no laws that can compromise this right. Representatives in the government will be proportional to the population of their state. No one who served their country and then betrayed it can go back into office, unless the Congress allows it by a 2/3 majority.
- Nobody is going to be stopped from voting for their race, color, or previous work. Congress will legally enforce this.
- The US can tax anyone regardless of state population.
- There will be two senators from each state regardless of size. They'll only be there for 6 years, and if something happens, the legislature will choose a new one.
- Alcoholic drinks will not be imported or exported from the US, but it won't have any effect unless it is ratified within 7 years.
- People won't be held back from voting because of gender.
- The President and Vice President will end/begin terms on January 20, and for senators and representatives, this day is on the 3rd. Congress has to meet up once a year, beginning on the 3rd. If something happens to the president during their term, then vice president will take over. Congress might have to choose president if necessary, and Senate might choose vice president.
- The 18th amendment has been repealed, but taking alcohol to any territory of the US is illegal.
- As soon as this amendment is ratified, the President is only allowed two terms.
- People electing the president and Vice President are going to meet in the district and perform the duties stated in #12.
- There will no longer be poll taxes to vote.
- The Vice President will take the place of the President if something happens to them, and President will nominate a Vice President something happens to them. The president can write to Congress that he is unable to perform, and Vice president will take over until the president writes that he can function once again. If Vice President and the Legislature believe that the president can't function, then they can write that down and Vice president will take over.
- People 18 and up can vote, and they won't be discriminated by age.
- No laws can suddenly come into existence without the representative election.

The short paragraph can be broken down into shorter phrases for a better understanding for example "provide for the common defense" This was added because The Framers of the Constitution knew that keeping the nation protected was a priority for that time and the future.

Why is our constitution still functioning?

I believe that the reason that the US constitution is still functioning today because the Constitution established a government that has served the people well and has protected the rights of the people. People depend their lives to be protected by this constitution when things aren't fair they depend on it. People know that their maybe some issues with the government but it has remained stable within the years of adopting the constitution.
Without the constitution there would be no stable government and things would be out of control and people would have power or anyone at all. There are many other factors why the US constitution is still working to this day.
