Type of Game

Mafia is a social deduction and role-playing party game. Players must use discussion, logic, deception, and observation to identify opponents and survive.

Where It’s Played

The game is usually played indoors, in a quiet room where players can sit in a circle or around a table. It works well at parties, gatherings, camps, classrooms, or online via video call.

Number of Players

Mafia can be played with 7 to 20+ players, but the ideal group size is 10–15.

Among the players, a few are secretly assigned as Mafia, while the rest are Townspeople (and possibly special roles).

How to Win

- Mafia wins if they eliminate enough Townspeople so that the number of Mafia is equal to or greater than the number of remaining Townspeople.

- Townspeople win if they successfully identify and eliminate all Mafia members.

Organization and Equipment

- A moderator (or host) who manages the game and does not play as a character.

- Role cards (Mafia, Townsperson, Doctor, Detective, etc.), or slips of paper to assign roles secretly.
