Siz pillars of Iman:
Iman (faith) is a crucial part of a Muslim’s life, here are the six pillars of Iman:

- Belief in Allah

To believe in Allah is to believe that there is only one God worthy of worship, with no partner, or son. This concept is known as Tawheed. Also, it is to completely believe in the way He is described in the Quran, Sunnah and in His 99 names.

- Belief in His Angels

The angels are messengers of Allah and are created from light. They were created before humans, for the purpose of worshipping and obeying Allah.
Angels do not sleep, eat or suffer from illnesses. It is crucial to believe in the angels, as they keep a record of our deeds. Some of the other duties of angles include: blowing the trumpet on judgment day, taking people’s souls (i.e. angel of death) and to be the keepers of heaven and hell.

- Belief in His books

Allah revealed books to his messengers as a form of guidance and proof for mankind. Among these books, is the Quran, which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. Allah has guaranteed the protection of the Quran from any distortion or corruption. The books that were sent and known to man are:

The Scrolls (Suhof) to Ibrahim

The Psalms (Zaboor) sent with the Prophet Dawud (David),

The Torah (Torah) sent with the Prophet Musa (Moses),

The Gospel (Injeel) sent with Prophet Isa (Jesus),

The Quran sent with Prophet Muhammad.

- Belief in His messengers

Allah sent prophets and messengers to preach the same topic: to believe in one God, guiding their nations to Islam. All messengers were created as human beings.
Most of the messengers of Allah were sent to a specific nation except Prophet Muhammad, who was sent to guide all of mankind. It is a duty of Muslims to send salaams (Peace and Blessings of Allah) when mentioning the names of any of the Prophets.

- Belief in the final day (Hereafter)

Muslims must believe in the existence of an afterlife, where all our deeds will be accounted, no matter how big or small. No one knows when this day will be except Allah, and thus we must continually work hard to achieve the best.

Muslims also believe in the existence of heaven and hell, and our final destination will be determined according to our deeds in this life.

Virtues of zakah & sadaqah:

Zakah can purify our wealth, gain closeness to Allah SWT and also as a sign of a faithful community. While sadaqah can help to cure illness and avert death, eases hardships and removes calamities and can expiate our sins.

Virtues of sawm:

Fasting carries countless benefits such as curing sickness and the evil eye, removal of sins, it defends against calamities, and becomes a means of salvation in the Hereafter. The act of being generous is found in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah SWT.

Concentrate on salah:

It is important to have a concentration in prayer because Allah rejects your prayer if you do not perform it with the presence of your mind, or khushoo as it is known in Islam.
Hence, how we can applying kushoo in salah? (before salah)
1. Identify the factors that distract you in your prayers (salah, singular salat), then try to eliminate them.
2. Learn the meaning of prayer. Try to understand the exact meaning of the words that you are reciting.
3.Try your best to pray together with other Muslims. In Islam, this is known as jama'ah.
4. Learn to perform your prayer according to the sunnah of our blessed Prophet Muhamad SAW
5. Give your mind a break for a few minutes before praying. Take time out from your tasks and relax. Instill calmness in your mind.

(during salah)
1. Instill self-discipline by stand upright with a softened heart. Think of your prayer as your last prayer. Remember that Allah is by your side and awaiting your prayer.
2. Don't pray hastily. Perform every part of every prayer with care and in a focused manner. The Qur'an says that successful believers are those "who are humble in their prayers".

(after salah)
1. Do not rush away immediately after the prayer. Sit for a while for contemplation and make dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and du'a.
2. Make du'a (supplication). The best time to make du'a is after the obligatory prayers.

Start your day with intention:

Intention is defined as a thought or resolve to do something in the future (e.g., Umrah and good deeds). It is not the same as desire or wishful thinking because it implies an action that will be performed later.
As we know, Allah SWT appoints two angels to record our good deeds and our bad deeds. However, He is Ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful, therefore we are given opportunities as an incentive almost, to guide us to the right path. They are as follows: Whoever intends to perform a good deed, but does not follow through with the act, Allah swt still records it as a complete deed. However, if he also follows through with the deed, Allah swt multiples the reward for that deed. Allah swt’s mercy is greater than his wrath because if you have a bad intention, you are not punished for the thought. You are only punished if you commit the bad deed, yet this is only counted as one deed. Allah SWT acknowledges we are not perfect individuals and that we will sin, hence He doesn’t punish us multiple times and we’re even given the opportunity to repent.
