When my grandfather was in his early twenties he had to choose whether he wanted to continue going to school for engineering or work with his family business to help take over and finance in the Philippines. He said he owned over 5 stores in total and they would mainly focus on selling handcrafted wood furniture made by a team of people everyday. Him my aunt and my great grandparents all worked for this small business but had to sadly close down when my grandfather decided to move to the US to be closer with my mom and my siblings and the more opportunities for my aunts and uncle and their own future children.
