This is because, in the film, she possesses the traits and attributes of a gangster. This role was traditional thought to be associated with males but Bonnie is excited by the thrill of the life a gangster lives. However, she she soon learns that a life of a gangster is one she does not want forever and if she doesn't do something, then she will be stuck in that constant cycle. Her journey comes full circle in the film as at the start she is desperate to leave her dull life and wants an adventure to go on. Clyde strolls into her life and shows her the exciting life she has been wanting. She is not afraid to become a gangster as she helps Clyde steals from banks. Typical gangster films focus on people and incorporate dark muted colours and low-key lighting which reflects the theme (revenge, death, betrayal,money, 🤬)
