B: It depends on the job you are applying for: there are jobs that requires great relation abilities and others that don’t. Anyway you need to have a B1 or B2 level in Germany and you need to be able to speak in English.

B: in general most of the categories of workers have health, nursing care, pension, accident, unemployment, car and pets insurances.

B: taxed depend on the income of the person. The percentages go from 14% to 42%, depending on the income: if you get less than 9.000 euros per year you mustn’t pay any tax.

B: for most of the categorie of workers the minimum salary is €9,82, but by 1/07 it will become €10,45 and by 1/10 they will increase it until €12.

Minors, trainees and only for the first 6 months, workers who have been unemployed for more than a year and freelancers mustn’t have a minimum salary.

B: there are some kind of bonus: Corona Prämie (employer choice), family bonus, housing allowance.

B: there are many opportunities, for example they have recently introduced a special 9 euros ticket per month to use public transports. 

The cost of life is not expensive in any case, but apartments rent cost averagely 860 euros per month.

Holidays?

Holidays, public holidays and absences from work. In Switzerland, all workers are entitled to at least 4 weeks of vacation per year. In case of particular events you can take free days or hours.

Life cost?

Living in Switzerland can solve problems. First, the cost of living is very high. In Europe it is preceded only by Norway, Denmark and Finland. The price of housing is so high that most people who come to Switzerland looking for work cannot afford to buy a house and many therefore resort to renting. However, rents are also relatively high.

As an indication, according to data published by the BSF, in 2019 the national average price of renting a home was around 1,362 Swiss francs (approximately 1,259 euros).

Insurance?

Health insurance in Switzerland for the people who live there is very specific. As a resident foreign worker in Switzerland, you are obliged to take out compulsory basic insurance, namely the KVG.

This obligation applies to holders of a work permit valid for more than 3 months, i.e. permits B, L or C. Foreign workers who do not work but live in Switzerland, like family members, are also obliged to take out KVG health insurance.

What documents?

the need to obtain a permit for work in Switzerland depends on the duration of the gainful activity.

In the case of employment lasting no more than 90 days, or 3 months, per calendar year, citizens of the EU-27, are not required to have a permit.

In the case of hiring for a period of more than 3 months / 90 days, however, it is mandatory to have a residence permit.

The authorization has a variable duration based on the duration of the work activity, and is divided into:

L EU / EFTA - short-term residence permit, for activities lasting less than one year (364 days);

B EU / EFTA - residence permit, for employment lasting at least one year or for an indefinite period.

Residency? Do you have to live in this country?

Citizens of the first 15 member states of the European Union have resided regularly and continuously in Switzerland for 5 years, can obtain a permanent residence permit of unlimited duration. . The latter is checked every 5 years.
