The sound of this song connects to both mood and tone of the story. It gives a suspenseful mood when listening to and reading the book when they are going through the dark forest. The tone the athur uses when decribing the details off the forest are very deep. And remind me of a evil.

When they arrived at Bilbos house, after they all ate. Thorin talked about his plan to take back what was once his. And he wants to make it better for the people there. This is a historical speech about making things better. Both speeches both talk about a task that must be completed soon.

This poem relates to the novel because it explains to never give up and keep fighting. In the novel there were many times where the group could of given up. But they remembered what they set out to do. So with that in their mind they were able to reach the lonely mountain.

I have a personal connection to Bilbo and his magical ring. When I was little I always pretended I had a magic cloak. My dad would always say i was invisible when i had it over me. And me being the 5 year old boy i was, actually believed him. I never wanted to show anybody that blanket because i wa afraid that they would try to steal it. I always put it over myself when i was in trouble but it never worked. This relates to Bilbo and his ring because when he was in trouble/danger he would just slip the ring on

The setting of the story reminds me of a corn maze. If you take one wrong turn you'll be lost for a long time. Just like Gandalf said, you must stay on the path if you want to make make it through it. Corn mazes like the one below can be extremely hard to complete.
