William Penn was a 38 year old man that was a Quaker who found out that king George II owed the Penn family £16,000 which converted to present time is about £1,833,760. Which is converted to present time US dollars is $2,275,677.82. Once he found this out he had brought the attention to the king. The king had no longer had that money so instead of paying it back in money he paid it back by giving the Penn family a land grant. When Penn traveled across the Atlantic ocean he found his land and dreamed of it being a christian and Quaker land where Christians could have their religion freely. But shortly about around the year of 1701 he had left because of financial reasons. But then came back in 1705 to find out that Pennsylvania was the richest colony at the time and he showed up to just collect a bunch of tax money.

As you can see for the seal in the middle on the plaque it's representing their agriculture with the ship in the middle for when their first settled and the wheat shredding on the middle representing their great farm lands. While the plow in the middle also represented their farm lands and the crops that they had produced. This flag was first used in 1779 on April 9th. The blue in the background had symbolized the blue coats for when they had fought for their freedom. Then the horses have wreaths of corn and oil with the horses harnesses. While the state motto "Virtue, liberty, and independence" is written underneath all of this.

Shawnee: They were the indigenous people of the northeastern woodlands. Their language, Shawnee, is an Algonquian language. Their pre-contact homeland was undiscovered land but then dispersed into Delaware and Maryland and Pennsylvania. They were the hunters of the tribes and had hunted deer and turkeys.
