[Hope Chest~148] The mood of this passage is lighthearted. It gives the reader something to connect to, as it is relatable seeming as to how sometimes parents make you do something that seems pointless.

"Everybody jumped for joy. Me too at first, for I was thinking Hooray, a halfway decent meal at last. If i eat one more egg omelet I think I'll turn over easy and cluck. But by the end of the day everybody was smeared with blood like creepy, happy ghouls and I couldn't bear to be one of them myself" pg 350.

The mood is disgusted because Rachel is disgusted since she sees them acting as savage hungry hunters since they're smeared in guts and blood. The tone is sympathetic because of how Rachel feels and disgusted with the help of words like "blood like creepy, happy ghouls".

Kaia Newton, Maria Reyes, Maya Maldonado, Ruby Seamon, Anaisa Pinales. and Alysha Puneteeees
