The way to identify a system is the parts interact with each other to fix a problem or help someone out. Scissors are a system because all the parts are interacting. The solar system is a system because gravity and the collections of objects work together as a system.

When identifying a system it is different parts connected to make something work or you can identify it as a collection of interacting parts. For Example, a flashlight needs the batteries , wires, and on and off button to operate . Another Example is a belt buckle, you can tighten a belt unless you have the tightening strip and metal flap to lock the buckle in place. Other Examples of systems are bicycles, cell phones, buildings, backpacks, lunch boxes, coats, electronics, water bottles, books, software, industrial, natural, social, notebooks, draws, railroads, doors, cameras, toaster, major league baseball, sunglasses, sleeping bags, helium balloons, fan, radio tower, clock, speakers, light bulbs, heater, sink, dish washer.

A system is a collection of interacting parts. For example, a system can be a lunchbox a lunchbox has a handle to hold on to , latches to open and close it. Another system is a coat a coat has a sipper to open and close it , sleeves to cover your arms , and a hood to cover your head when it is cold or raining. Systems are useful because almost everything is a system. Other systems are
Flashlight
Backpack
Belt
Skateboard
That is why we need systems in our world

When identifying a system you should look for different things.First look at the parts of the object.Do the parts work together to help the object do its job.The parts work together to create an action or a use of the object .For example,a water bottle has plastic to hold the liquid,a cap to keep it from spilling, and a label. When the liquid is inside you apply pressure and twist the cap off to drink the liquid inside. Some systems are industrial, natural, and or cultural.
