In the middle, as you might guess, in the 1990s, a lonely teenager Stevie shares an apartment in Los Angeles with a gloomy and embittered 18-year-old brother who regularly beats him and still a young mother who is caring but almost as lost as her children. In the film, Stevie wants to be like his brother and he doesn't appreciate it and constantly hits the guy. One day Stevie sees skaters on the streets of his ghetto. He sees the tricks they do and wants to get into their company. And now Stevie meets a group of teenagers on the steps of a skate shop (in my childhood they were called "big guys"). They have already mastered the art of skating, dashingly slide down stairs or maneuver on the train tracks, and Stevie, in order not to screw up in their eyes, trains at home, making bruises. And now - bingo! - he was accepted into the pack. And they don't even mock his small stature. They could have come up with some offensive nickname, but no - they call him Tanned.
 
In fact, almost everyone has nicknames, and each to the point. For example, Fakshit is, of course, a label that speaks of favorite sayings. And the fourth grade is about the level of intelligence, although the guy probably has another talent that does not require school wisdom: he shoots everything on a video camera (director Jonah Hill ends the film with it very effectively). Only the leader, the most skillful skater Ray (who dreams of becoming a real pro and through this to break out into people), has no nicknames.
 Stevie plays the main role in it so touchingly combines the vulnerability of a child and the resilience of a man. Stevie, who wants to look cool, is afraid of everything that his friends have already feared.
Stevie is experiencing trials, joys, rituals and forbidden pleasures, through which, probably, everything goes: from the first cigarette and a sip of some rubbish straight from the bottle to the first awkward kiss. But every teenager goes through his own initiation in one way or another. Today, no one in the world accessible to us sends a child to be tested in the ghetto, but still, each of us has a chance that is led by an invisible providence and from which a truly adult life begins.

My favourite film
I like to go to the cinema very much and I like to watch different films. My favourite genres are comedies and action, but also I like fantasy.
It's difficult to select only one film for me. I think i will write about last film that impressed me.
My favorite director is Guy Ritchie. He was made new film recently, it's the Gentleman.
The Gentlemen is a 2019 action comedy film. 
The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong and others.
The plot of the films tells us about American businessman in England who is looking to sell his business.
I think it's the best film if 2019.
