They had no refrigeration so all the food went off and some people could get hungry then starving and might DIE !! Some animals got diseases and gave them to the people so they could also feel sick. The jails were to overcrowded so they had to go on a overcrowded boat all the way to what they call Sydney Cove. They had no hygiene and got all dirty. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢😣😣😣😣😣I would feel really sick and hate that so much, imagine you being a convict for something like stealing a loaf of bread I mean it’s just BREAD JUST BREAAAAD for the hungry and poor they slept very badly because they had to sleep with no pillow or blanket they might have to sleep in a hammock.

The conditions were not that great on the boat there were diseases like plagues the flu and tones more. Tones of people died because there were rats, mice and cockroaches and the ships were overcrowded there was also no clean water or fresh food to eat. Awful and pretty much all the food was out of date! And probably very scary for the people that didn’t die. If I was on the boat I would feel very lonely. The condition was awful, and alot  of people got very sick, sea sick and alot  of diseases where going around. The beds would be very very uncomfortable. I think life in the first fleet was awful because you could get any type of nasty diseases that could make you really sick. The food was also rotten so if people ate it they would go off and you can not eat it. There was also bad hygiene the toilets also would smell awful. Also there was no fresh water so people could not drink proper clean water. They were on the ship with guards and other convicts. Many people worked as servants, blacksmiths, bricklayers and different jobs. Around 14 convicts were kids. The sleeping would be in tents and hammoks. The weather would be wild and mabey freezing cold that my face will freeze!

Some illnesses like the plague would be fatal. The hygene will be super terrible. But they decided that all the other convicts should be transported to New South Wales.
