I distinctly remember reading the book, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros in class. I enjoyed this novel because I could relate it to my own experience with my Mexican heritage. My passion for reading has gone beyond crazy, and every year I try to foster the love of reading to all my students. The best reward to hear at the end of the year is for students to tell you how they now enjoy reading. I always try to read novels that will leave them wanting for more. I have read the following books during my middle school years, and all have been with large success.
