I'm in the MA Higher Education with a concentration in counseling and advising. I am almost completing my program in a few months, in December 2025.

I am currently working towards my master's, and last month, I completed my induction, so I am now a full clear teacher.

I currently teach 8th-grade ELA, and I am working toward transitioning into a student services role in higher education, such as academic advising or college counseling. My goal is to support first-generation and underrepresented college students by drawing on my classroom experience and my ongoing graduate studies in Higher Education.

My family is Mexican-American, and our cultural identity is deeply rooted in strong family values, resilience, and pride in our heritage. While English is the primary language spoken in our home, Spanish remains an important part of our cultural connection, especially with older family members and during family gatherings.
