To start the engine safely, ensure that the parking brake is applied. Then, depress the brake pedal and place the transaxle shift lever in either the 'N' (neutral) or 'P' (park) position. For your safety, it is important to start the engine with the shift lever in the 'P' position. While continuing to depress the brake pedal, press the engine start-stop button. Keep the brake pedal depressed until the illuminated glow indicator goes off, which usually takes approximately 5 seconds. Once the glow indicator turns off, the engine will start running.
