El flexómetro, también conocido como cinta métrica o huincha de medir, es un instrumento de medición, el cual nació de la necesidad de transportar de manera compacta y práctica una herramienta de medición longitudinal precisa donde se encuentran impresas las unidades de medición y sus divisiones.
Las primeras referencias utilizadas fueron partes del cuerpo humano; posteriormente, para medir se utilizaban otras unidades como la vara, que tenían longitudes diferentes según el lugar geográfico.  Debido a  esta  falta  de  uniformidad, gobiernos  y  monarquías  de  diferentespaíses   efectuaron   varios   intentos   de   unificación.
Antes se usaban las partes del cuerpo como medida pero era menos perfecto que ahora con el flexometro. Ahora el flexometro es el más preciso y es muy fácil de transportarse.

The Flexometer

The flexometer, also known as measuring tape or measuring tape, is a measuring instrument, which was born from the need to transport in a compact and practical way an accurate longitudinal measuring tool where the measurement units and their divisions are painted.
The first references used were parts of the human body; later, to measure other units were used as the rod, which had different lengths depending on the geographical location. Due to this lack of uniformity, governments and monarchies from different countries made several attempts at unification.
Before the body parts were used as a measure but was less perfect than now with the flexometer. Now the flexometer is the most accurate and it is very easy to transport.
