A good example for a stereotype is that all popular kids in school are mean. There are a lot of cases where the popular kids are popular because they're nice and a good person. 

Where: The disaster took place in an abandoned, broken church on top of a hill. No one went there anymore, so they’re shouldn’t have been any fire hazards. Later, the police found cigarettes and a lighter that were left in the church. The children thought it would be a good idea to play around with the 2 dangerous items causing the fire. 

When: This event took place mid day, sunny weather. That really didn’t help the situation. Usually people would be happy for sunny weather, but in this case, the sun didn’t do any good for the disaster. 

Why: We had an interview with Cade and Curtis. They told us that they went to check out the church and accidently left cigars and a lighter in the church. No information was exchanged about why they smoke at such a young age, what they were doing in the church and why they were in the church in the first place. 

How: The 2 boys jumped into the church, not a single worry about themselves. They broke into the church by breaking one of the windows that the flames haven't taken down yet. After that, they had to search around the church to find the kids. When they did, they took each kid, one at a time, and gently dropped them out the window in order to not hurt anyone.

2 teenage boys become heroes after risking their lives to save 5 elementary kids from a burning hell fire. Here’s how. 

The sixteen year old boy, Johnny Cade, died due to the damages of the flames of the church. Luckily, the fourteen year old Ponyboy Curtis survived with just a few bruises on his back. The 2 boys were a part of a gang. They had another man with them named Dallas Winston, also part of their gang. He saved Curtis from some flames on his back, preventing a lot of damage that the boy could’ve gotten to his back. He himself was lucky to get away with just a broken arm and a few nights in the hospital. 

How did this happen? An elementary class decided to go on a field trip to the top of the hill, close to the church. A few of the kids ran off without supervision, into the church. Before you know it, the house of god was burning hot flames with the students still inside. Everyone in panic, not knowing what to do when out of nowhere, 2 hero's come running and without hesitation jump into the burning flames. The 2 teenage boys jumped in to save the kids and Winston saved the 2 teenage boys, or tried saving the 2 teenage boys.

Ponyboy Curtis siad: “If that old church ever caught fire, there’d be no stopping it” a few days before the incident. He couldn’t have been more right. It's almost as if he predicted this awful disaster.

Smell - You can imagine the smell of the fresh air and the flowers.

2) Sight - Robert Frost is suggesting to enjoy those little moments in life because at one moment or another, that moment will fade and there is nothing you can do to relive it and the feeling that comes with it. You can try to recreate it and do it again, but it will never turn out to be the same.

3) The greasers live in poor conditions with always the fear of getting hurt when walking alone at night. But there are some moments that can be described as golden. Moments where everything just slows down and they get to enjoy themselves for a second, or like in the poem, for an hour. For example, somewhere in the beginning of the book, Johnny and Ponyboy lay in the lot and watch stars before slowly falling asleep, a golden moment. Next thing you know Darry hits Ponyboy out of panic and frustration of the fact that Ponyboy doesn't use his head and makes them worried sick ("So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay"). 

4) A good theme statement for the outsiders is sacrifice. The greasers show many examples of this. Darry sacrificed his future of college and perhaps a wealthier life for his 2 brothers. Johnny sacrificed himself for the children in the fire and was ready to turn himself in at the police station for killing a socs because he didn't want Ponyboy to hide for the rest of his life because of him. Dallas almost sacrificed himself by giving Pony and Johnny a weapon and money to survive in the church (if he got caught, he would've gone to prison, again).
