I think the theme of the story is to be careful. My EVIDENCE is that in the story the frog is about to be eaten but then the frog has a defense which allows it to get claws. When a predator comes to eat it it puts out it's claws which puts a hole in their skin but is better than being eaten. I think the theme is to not specked   anything. I think the theme of the story is sometimes things are not always as they seem. My EVIDENCE is in the book the frog got traped it looked like it didn't have a way to fight back, but the frog has bones on the back of his legs that help the frog escape. the newt also has bones that help but in a different way. both animals have a hidden way of defense. This helps them get away.
