Northern Nigeria's environment made up of high, flat plains since farmers had cleared out trees and ferns to grow their crops. Droughts happened later in 2000. The largest ethnic groups consist of Hausa and Fulani, but the Hausa language is more spoken over Fulani. Hausa people are tended to be in more urban areas while Fulani are found in rural places. In their culture, they make music by using a drum called a kalangu. Women may wear headdresses while men would normally wear baggy cotton pants and a fez. They have flat roofs on their houses and sometimes will sleep on their roofs on hot nights. Their money comes from selling crops to their local tourists, some work as trader and merchants, while others will do herding.

The Eastern region of Nigeria definitely where most rainfall happens. The Niger delta is in this region and is one of the world's largest wetlands. There is pollution from oil spills and Igbo is the largest ethnic group. They live in villages and are educated at school. They had other ethnic groups resenting the power Igbo had and tried to break away in 1967. One million Igbo fled and war broke out. The Igbo people were Christian and their houses are on stilts. They wear colorful wraps and also have masked dancers for festivals, ceremonies, and rituals. Their traditional hat is a cap and one of their main resources is oil. They sell their oils to make money, but farming used to be their main activity. Many people attend college and get education.
