I am freelance historian, so I work part-time in three places: Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, Nazi Forced Labour Doc-Centre and International Memorial (my initial russian human rights and scientific organisation, which studies repressions in the past and presence)

2. I have researched history of "Ostarbeiters" for many years (especially their afterwar repatriation and adaptation, using the gender optics). Because of my work in "Memorial" I am interested in GULAG history also. And in contemporary cultural memory in Russia for sure 

3. Political activism (raising public awareness of russian political prisoners, who were imprisoned because of perfoming against russian war in Ukraine; support of feminist movements), travelling 

4. What is your biggest challenge at the moment?
I emigrated from Russia after the start of the russian invasion of Ukraine, because my organisation - "International Memorial" - was repressed by the government and our antiwar position. Now it is almost one year of my emigration, I am trying to adjust to Germany and support Ukraine as much as I can

4. My father had an stroke last year and is still recovering. It´s sometimes kinda rough to get the care work, university work and my job together.
5. Meeting new people. After Covid it´s so great to come back to an "normal" life and to spend time with other people without greater worries. It´s even my first time at Greek, so I´m looking really forward to get to know as much about Greek and the culture and people I can.

  • My main research focus is aspects of the Holocaust in Thessaloniki and digital history, especially regarding geographical and mapping concepts.
