What do you think?

I think... Gandhi's philosophy and leadership not only made an impact on the Civil Rights movements but also influenced today's generation. His principles and ethics serve as a model for many aspiring leaders. As Gandhi says, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," ultimately empowering young individuals with his wisdom. Personally, I've looked up to Gandhi and his perception towards life which led me to taking action in not only changing the world around me but myself.

To summarize, alleged Chinese spy Alice Guo was exposed for faking her educational and birth certificate documents in order to enter the Philippine government as a Mayor. I simply chose this article because it led me to what I've learned in Module 1 where it is important to be educated in order to require and maintain a position in the office.

This article was written to spread awareness that most government can be easily manipulated if not deeply looked in to. With this information, I wonder what would happen if this occurred during Confucianism? While for people that lived during Confucianism, education gave them motivation to prove themselves to be part of high office. Yet, being trained and educated today allowed for an opportunity to fool a whole country's government system while faking their identity and educational documents as mentioned in the article provided.

In the lecture video, it discussed the many controversies about Gandhi including the question Is Gandhi the real father of nation? It was also mentioned that despite his many efforts, he was still seen as someone who caused violence between the Muslim and the Hindus. The assassinator was even praised for his work. The debate remains today.

From what I've learned, I often think about the question

What would have been different if Marco Polo never took on his journey to China. Would Europeans have the same perception of the country? In the lecture, it gave me a clear understanding of Marco Polo's influence in changing how Europe perceives the Chinese society. It also went in depth of what he learned and found out in China that he brought back with him and his father.

In the lecture video, it was mentioned that the idea of Confucianism not only spread through China but also in Korea, Japan and Vietnam. His main goal was to restore order through education. Another interesting information I learned while watching the module video was foot binding. It is when a girl's parents start to use cloth to break the bones of the feet. I found this interesting because the idea alone doesn't seem ethical in today's generation.
