Flipgrid is a tool that students can use to create videos to express their ideas. Teachers can create a class and choose time limits, sharing abilities, and other settings (Flipgrid, 2022).
This tool supports project-based learning for students because teachers can explore the Disco Library to find topics as a PBL focus, and can differentiate topics for different student levels (Dene Poth, 2020). Students have many options for sharing ideas and can customize their videos with emojis, filters, and other features (Dene Poth, 2020). Students are engaged in creating their own personal video to share with the teacher and their classmates.
This tool is best suited for asynchronous environments because students need to independently record using their device.
A project-based unit this tool could be applied with is one in which students must share their research and findings. For example, if students are working on a PBL about endangered animals, they could create a video about a specific animal or the information they found.
This tool helps address the ISTE Standard for Students Creative Communicator 1.6 because students can creatively share their ideas using the video tool (ISTE, 2017).

Students can use graphics, text, gifs, and other features on premade templates.
This tool supports project-based learning because students can create original products as the culmination for a PBL, or display their research. Students can also collaborate with peers on shared Canva posters to increase engagement. Teachers can differentiate using Canva by sharing pre made templates with groups of students, or create challenge assignments for gifted students.
Canva is best suited for both synchronous and asynchronous environments because students can showcase their work during the face-to-face interactions in the synchronous environment, and work independently on assignments during asynchronous time.
A project-based unit where Canva can be utilized is a social media campaign about something students want to change at their school (Pieratt, 2019).
This tool can help address the ISTE Standard for Students Global Collaborator 1.7 because students can work together on Canva projects about real world problems (ISTE, 2017).
