The Michigan Department of Education is allowing for public input on the topic of the health and sex ed standards in schools and totally updating them all. It talks about the old standards and what we should add or take away from them since they were last updated in 2007. I think this is a fantastic idea, and I hope it goes through. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

It is important to help boost confidence in our students to help positive performance and participation.

Comeback of the Presidential Fitness Test?

The presidential fitness test was no longer required after 2013 by President Obamas orders and is now being reinstated under President Trumps orders. I don't remember this test being a big part of school for me, but it is said to change some things required with the goal to get children moving and spark that competitive atmosphere between peers.
