Compassion is similar to Empathy where you as the individual is feeling how the other person is feeling, but the big difference is when you show Empathy you are feel exactly what the other person is feeling and taking in those same emotions. Meaning when someone is hurting you are feeling that hurt as well. We do not want to feel that hurt within, so when you show COMPASSION you are taking the next step where you do something warm and caring to the individual by showing your kindness. It can come in your words and your actions. Tell us your story or tell us how you can show COMPASSION in ACTION in your daily lives.

Here is my story. I was at 7-11 in Waipahu getting a snack because I was hungry. I saw a homeless man sitting outside. He name is Mr. S. I created him hello and I went inside to get my snack. Unfortunately, I saw a person who walked out of 7-11 and he yelled at Mr. S to get off the sidewalk. I was hurt to witness that unkind act because I know the exact feeling that Mr. S is going through. I felt empathetic for Mr. S, and then I decided to show my COMPASSION in ACTION by buying him a hotdog and Coca-Cola. I gave it to Mr. S and I actually ate my snack with him on the sidewalk. I did a kind and warm act by spending some of my time with someone else. At the end, Mr. S was grateful that I got him a snack along with talking stories with him. There will be people out there that may look down which I witness, but it's the actions that we do for others that define us and people need to see more of that Compassion being shared to others.

@MrsDeHaan1
During times of high stress and anxiety, animal lovers all around the world depend on their fur babies for comfort. They infuse our day with love, attention, and the ability to lift our thoughts to a pleasant and peaceful level. For some, it seems silly to place so much emphasis on our relationships with our pets, but for my family, he is our family.
