         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Merit-based;</strong> This type of college aid is usually awarded for a student's academic achievements in high school, as well as for special talents and unique traits, such as musical or athletic skills.<br><br><strong>Need-based</strong>; free money that you don't have to pay back, and money awarded to students based on financial circumstances or need.<br><br><strong>Gift aid;</strong> Students typically receive gift aid based on financial need, academic achievement, or for other skills and talents.<br><br><strong>Self-help aid;</strong> money awarded to students that must be paid back, or requires something in return, such as volunteer hours or a certain number of work hours.<br><br></div>]]></description>
