I think that Where the Crawdads Sing and Owen's personal story draws parallels, so perhaps this is her way of expressing her emotions in a different way.

I also think that her story could possibly be biased, due to her past experiences. But for cancel culture, I don't think it would be completely fair to disregard her work, because we don't know for sure that she was involved in the murder

I think it could just be a model of something she experienced in her life or was caught up in. I dont think its meant to reveal or confess anything criminal but rather uses the controversy or event as a point due to its interesting nature.

I think where the Crawdads Sing might draw from personal experience but none that references her as a murderer rather but the idea of loss and death is a parallel theme in the book and her life.

I think that it should be a reason to read her book since it comes from someone familiar with the themes of the book rather than pure fantasy. I do not think she should be involved in cancel culture as its important to recognize the true stories both heroic or tragic.

I think writing is a way of expression and a way of coping, but that could be due to something else in her life, not murder. I think it depends on interpretation.

I think that the author writing this novel is not an admission of guilt, but rather it is inspired by her personal experiences. Like many authors, she is expressing herself and her feelings, possibly about the situation.

i don't think that this is a good reason to not read her book because i think it is important to separate the art from the artist, and her actions don't take away from the quality of the book. it is a personal decision wether or not to financially support her though.

No, just because the author is a bad person dosen't mean its a bad book, it also means she has first hand experience, it would be interesting to get an inside perspective.

maybe, I don't know if its necessarily hiding anything, if i committed a crime i don't think i would leave clues for conspiracy theorists to find, its more likely that she's doing what many authors do unconsciously, paralleling their own lives and writing what they know.

I agree that it probably wasn't a hint to a real confession, but she probably carried that event with her for a long time. She drew inspiration from something that happened to her (or around her i guess)

I don't think she would be cancelled for something that nobody can prove. It almost sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. And she seems like a generally well-regarded author - didn't they make this book a movie?

I am not sure what to think of it, but I lean more to the side of no hint. In the video, she explains a view that she had within our society which I think could perfectly reason with her writing of the book. As it seems based on the summary that was provided, the book touches on the aspects of the video. At the same time though, I have heard very often that writers write about their experiences in their life and it would also make no sense for her in the video to reveal that she killed someone. With the addition of that and her being a zoologist, I could also see her taking the other side though.

Once again, I don't know what to think about the situation, but I lean more toward the fact that she is not a murderer and therefore, is not trying to cover up anything.

I think that even if someone like Delia Owens did something wrong (like commit the murder), it is important to consider their perspectives/views. A lot of the time, we find that although some people make bad decisions, that does not mean that all of their work/life/views are also corrupt. Therefore, I don't think that she should be a part of "cancel culture."

I think that while she may have drew on something that she may had known for inspiration, she didn't mean to actually confess to anything.

I think she uses her novels more as a way to put her emotions somewhere instead of keeping them bottled up.

I think that it adds to the experiences that she describes in the book, and shouldn't be a reason not to read the book.
