Let me share with you a quote, or rather, a phrase that I have heard that, to me, is meaningful. "Islam is not restrictive, but protective". To me, this is very powerful. If we follow the teachings of Islam and embrace its values, we can avoid the very consequences of our desires and lead a life with reason.

Here are the key points in simple words:

1. Islam: Jibreel asked about Islam, and the Prophet explained it as the five pillars: saying the Shahada (testimony of faith), praying, giving zakat (charity), fasting in Ramadan, and performing Hajj.

2. Iman: Jibreel then asked about faith, and the Prophet described it as belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and Qadr (divine decree).

3. Ihsan: Jibreel asked about Ihsan, and the Prophet said it means worshiping Allah as if you see Him, and if you can’t see Him, knowing He sees you.

4. Signs of the Hour: Jibreel also asked about the signs of the Day of Judgment, and the Prophet mentioned some events that would happen as signs.

This hadith is special because it summarizes the core of Islamic beliefs and practices, and it teaches Muslims to focus on both outward actions and inward sincerity. It’s like a guide for understanding the faith.

1. Sincerity (Ikhlas) – Seek knowledge for the sake of Allah, not for showing off or personal gain.

2. Respect for Teachers – Show gratitude, listen attentively, and follow their guidance.

3. Humility – Acknowledge that learning is a lifelong process and remain open to correction.

4. Acting Upon Knowledge – Apply what you learn in daily life rather than just collecting information.

5. Avoiding Arrogance – Knowledge should make a person humble, not proud or boastful.

1. Shahadah (Faith) – The testimony that There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger is the foundation of Islam.

2. Salah (Prayer) – Performing the five daily prayers strengthens the connection with Allah and maintains discipline.

3. Zakat (Charity) – Giving 2.5% of one’s wealth to the needy purifies wealth and promotes social welfare.

4. Sawm (Fasting in Ramadan) – Teaches self-discipline, empathy for the poor, and spiritual purification.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah) – A duty for those who can afford it, symbolizing unity and submission to Allah.

1. Belief in Allah – Recognizing His oneness (Tawhid), attributes, and ultimate control over everything.

2. Belief in Angels – Angels are created from light, never sin, and carry out Allah’s commands (e.g., Jibril delivers revelations).

3. Belief in Prophets – Prophets are chosen by Allah to guide humanity; Muhammad (PBUH) is the final prophet.

4. Importance of Faith in the Unseen – Belief in these aspects strengthens trust in Allah’s wisdom.

1. Belief in Divine Books – The Qur’an is the final and preserved revelation; previous books (Torah, Zabur, Injil) were also from Allah.

2. Belief in Qiyamah (Day of Judgment) – All souls will be resurrected, judged based on deeds, and sent to either Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell).

3. Belief in Qada' (Allah’s Decree) and Qadar (Destiny) – Everything happens by Allah’s will, yet humans are responsible for their choices.

4. Accountability and Justice – No injustice will be done on Judgment Day; everyone will be repaid for their deeds.

1. Ihsan (Spiritual Excellence) – Worship Allah as if you see Him, always strive for sincerity and righteousness.

2. Developing Good Character – Ihsan encourages kindness, honesty, and self-discipline in all aspects of life.

3. Minor Signs of Qiyamah – Moral decay, dishonesty, widespread sin, and people distancing themselves from religion.

4. Major Signs of Qiyamah – The appearance of Dajjal (false messiah), the return of Isa (Jesus), the rising of the sun from the west, and the blowing of the final trumpet.

1. Obeying Parents – Follow their guidance as long as it does not go against Islam.

2. Speaking Kindly – Avoid harsh words and always show respect in conversation.

3. Caring for Them in Old Age – Islam emphasizes serving parents when they grow weak, just as they cared for us as children.

4. Making Dua for Them – Pray for their well-being in this world and the next.

5. Avoiding Disrespect – Even minor acts of rudeness (e.g., saying “Uff” in frustration) are discouraged in Islam.
