It's hard not to have autonomy within your class to make decisions that will be best for them. It's always go on to the next lesson regardless of how the students are doing. The schedule is unrealistic and has to be adjusted to fit as much of the materials as possible. It's honestly sad and scary to me that people feel teachers need to have a curriculum this detailed to be "effective". It takes the fun out of teaching. I'm not even going to get started on STAAR readiness. The materials are interesting to the students but not accessible and I feel unable to reach them because of the demands of the lesson. It has created so much more work and yet we've been given even less time to do anything.
