Within Indian culture Hinduism is a big belief. With this they have the belief that death comes with ones destiny and not due to illness. Due to this belief if a person is Hindu then healthcare is not required to be provided if it will only prolong their life.

It is essential in Indian cultures to respect and adhere to what the elders of the community have to say. Due to this if the senior/elder in the community is against a certain discovery within health care then the people will more than likely go with what the elder is saying.

India is known as the center for alternative medicine. Due to their values and beliefs, not mentioning the political affects of healthcare, Indian culture turns elsewhere for health benefits and healing. The most common of the sorts is yoga, naturopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and homoeopathy. These make up the alternative medicine system they refer to as AYUSH. Some parts of this system, such as Unani, actually stems back all the way to the ancient greek medicine used. While others, such as Ayurveda, is specific to the muslim culture.

You can ask appropriate questions or let them come to you with any concerns!

Learn About Their Culture: If appropriate, while still keeping their care as the number one priority, do what you can to make them feel comfortable!
