A very important win for the Allies at the end of the war. The Germans tried to surprise the Allies with 200,000 men. However, the 800,000 Allied Men were ready for the Germans. This night is known as the "Night of Broken Glass." 30,000 men were taken into German camps know as concentration camps to work for the Germans. Auschwitz played a big part in the war. This camp was used for the torture and killing of the Jewish population. Hitler's big plan was to terminate the Jewish Population. So in Auschwitz they would break people up into the jail, the gas chambers, and the work area where they would do what they were told to. The Tuskegee Airman were the first black aviators in the US Army Air corps.  The made a pathway for African Americans to fight in World War 2. They were the all women pilots of Russia’s 588th Night Bomber Aviation Regiment. They started out testing planes to see if they were good for combat. Night Witches had no parachutes so when it was there turn to fight they flew very close to the ground.

The Yalta Conference brought together the leaders of the United states, Russia, and Britain in order to stop war in Europe. They discussed where to give the land back to and who deserves what resources. However it didn't end the war for the Japanese.

On August 6, 1945, an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It killed an estimated 80,000 people.
