*First: Why does she say that Peter was persecuted for his pursuit of knowledge? 
*He's not; he is being persecuted for his relationship with a controversial religious leader. 
* While it is fair to say that he had a relationship with Jesus because he wanted to pursue spiritual wisdom, it is not accurate to say that he was persecuted for pursuing wisdom itself. 
* Thus, was actually persecuted for the method through which he chose to pursue knowledge.

* Says she herself is not wise, but her pursuit of wisdom makes her vulnerable to persecution, and people have tried to bar her from learning, which can be seen in her Abbess ordering her not to read books. 
*Says that keeping her from her books does not keep her from learning as life tempts her insatiably curious mind with many opportunities for learning, including in cooking. 
*Shows that learning is a suitable pastime for women.
* Reiterates that she doesn't need books, but she sure does like them.
