How does Phonemic awareness apply to the classroom in Early Ed?

Phonemic awareness: Early Childhood Development (ECD) is the most important time for phonemic awareness development, especially between the ages of three and five. This stage is important because the developing brain is very amenable to learning new sounds and linguistic patterns throughout these formative years (White & Thompson, 2020). To optimize developmental benefits and establish a solid basis for future reading abilities, ECD programs should include effective phonemic awareness training (The Importance of Phonemic Awareness in Early Childhood Development, 2024).

References: The Importance of Phonemic Awareness in Early Childhood Development.
