Nba youngboy has achieved many things throughout his career but here are some that will go down in history. One major thing he accomplished was having 9 albums hit number one on top R&B/Hip Hop Albums, this is a great thing in general but especially for him when he only has 9 albums out and all hit #1. He also has a Grammy and BET award. With more than 30 billion total streams and 109 RIAA-certified releases, he is one of the most streamed artists in the world. He also became the youngest artist in Billboard history to chart 100 songs on the Hot #100 list, only 23 at this time. Also, this milestone puts him on the list of only 12 other musical artists to have 100 songs reach the list. He also did this with little to no radio play and no mainstream press making him the biggest blackballed artist and he is doing most of this on a strict house arrest policy. This is what makes him one of the greatest of our generation. #Yb #top100 #HipHop #BET #BR #NBA

One major influence for Young Boy was a local rapper in Baton Rouge named "Lil Phat". Lil Phat tragically died before Youngboy started rapping and he honors his name by making a song called "Rip Lil Phat" and also having "Rip Lil Phat" on his "Still Flexing Still Stepping" album. You can hear the influence he had on Youngboy in his earlier mixtapes like "Mind Of A Menace 1,2&3". He also was influenced by Lil Wayne and paid homage to him a lot in his early career, in one of his music videos he stops and sings along to Lil Wayne The Block Is Hot song and remixes it. Years later they end up having a song together called "My Window" but Lil Wayne is just one of many people Youngboy remixed another is Jay Z with "The Story of O.J (Top Version)". Most of the people Youngboy listened to while growing up he made songs with he even made a mixtape that had a back-to-the-past vibe called "3800 Degrees". In this mixtape he made the cover look like 400 degreez juvenile art cover. But that wasn't all he got old-school rappers to feature on his songs, the rappers were E-40, Mouse on the track, and Shy Glizzy. NBA Youngboy always pays homage to the ones before him and makes sure to keep their name alive. #3800 #Yb #JayZ #LilWayne #BR

Lyric Analysis

Youngboy has many songs where he speaks his feelings and how he is perceiving his life at the moment. In a song called Cemetery Lifestyle, he goes on a say "Inside my cup must be the devil because a demon always come out of me all of a sudden inside the bank it has been a murder scene there was blood on that money". What these lyrics meant was that every time he drinks a drug that is sipped, he starts to get angry and feel like he loses control of himself becoming a dark person or a demon, while he is getting his riches he feels it is blood money because he would use the money to fund a gang war back in his home city where blood has been spilled in both sides and if it wasn't for this he feels he wouldn't have this money. Also in another song "No Understand" he talks about a situation that he deeply regrets the lyrics go "them bullets flying let's talk bout that couldn't grab my strap baba shot back I feel the pain of the innocence when I did my time I didn't feel nothing it was for that man who was heaven sent for that child who was grazed she wasn't supposed to be in this". In this verse, he talks about a shooting that happened right before his concert that led to a little girl getting grazed by a bullet and that being his only regret for that situation and wishing she was never there. He also talks about how he couldn't get to his gun in time so his friend "BaBa" had to shoot back for their safety which led them both to do time in jail BaBa is just now being released after years but Youngboy is grateful to him and calls him heaven-sent because if he wasn't there it could've ended with Youngboy being dead. In his song "Proof" he has a verse that goes " Trying to save up 30 dollars to 30 mill oh yea my god real I aint have my rod wet up my whole car duck from a line a steel this aint no facade as a child I had it hard as a man I shed tears". In this, he is talking about the struggles he had in his child to teenage years not being able to come up with thirty dollars but god blessed him for all his struggles he went through and now can save up to 30 mill he then goes on to talk about a day where his car got shotup in a highway where he almost died he mentions this shootout in many songs saying if he moved his head the wrong way he wouldve died and just chalked it up to being life back then but now as he is older he looks as his situtions like this in a mature way and can cry for his old pain instead of holding it all in.
#StillFlexinStillSteppin #RollingLoud #Youngboy #DontTryThisAtHome #BR

Influential lyric post

Kentrell has dropped many songs over the years with influential and meaningful lyrics to me over the years. An influential lyric to me is when he said in Death Enclaimed "Why I feel I'm the only one speaking up, before I bow down to these people ill have my funeral in they town". This is influential to me because its says you have to stand on what you say and believe in no matter what the consequence is and only a few people in the world are built like this and think like this, this has been my mindset for a long time. His song Genie as a whole is a meaningful song to me but the lyrics that resonate the most with me are " I swear I'll never run just like a man imma face my problems". These lyrics are the most meaningful to me in this song because when I was younger and used to see my dad he would play this song and stop it right after those lyrics and talk to me about life every time I hear this song and this part I always think of that memory and moments like those with my dad. Some other Influential lyrics is "Where that money at I want it all... I done ran me up a millon in a month lets go" This was in his song Want It All. This is influential to me because every time I hear it, it motivates me to get up and better my life try to get more money, and find more ways to get more money. #Yb #Lyrics #UntilDeathCallMyName #SincerlyKentrell #NBA
