25th October.

27th November.

"The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde is a play that tells the story of two friends, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who both lead double lives to escape their social responsibilities. They create imaginary identities to live separate lives in the city and the countryside. Jack pretends to be his fictitious brother, Ernest, to court Gwendolen Fairfax, while Algernon pretends to be Jack's brother to woo Cecily Cardew. The play is filled with mistaken identities, witty dialogue, and humorous situations that satirize Victorian society's emphasis on social norms, marriage, and the superficiality of appearances. In the end, the characters' secrets are revealed, leading to a resolution that celebrates love, honesty, and the importance of being true to oneself.

yes, I would recommend it because, it's interesting and different from the other books and it's not boring.

2/12/2023

5/1/2024

Jonathan Haidt's book "The Righteous Mind" examines the psychological foundations of morality and makes the case that intuition and emotion, rather than just reason, have a significant impact on people's moral judgments. Haidt uses the "elephant and the rider" metaphor to show how intuitive and logical thought processes interact. In order to confront the political and theological differences among people, the book underlines how important it is to comprehend a variety of moral viewpoints.

Yes, I do suggest "The Righteous Mind" because of its thoughtful examination of the psychological underpinnings of morality, which clarifies the reasons for the diversity of people's religious and political views. For those who want to get a better knowledge of moral cognition in humans and how it affects social divides, Haidt's work is highly recommended due to her captivating writing style and explanations supported by research.

1) January

2)"The Bourne Identity" is about a guy named Jason Bourne who wakes up not knowing who he is. As he tries to figure it out, he's chased by spies and has to deal with a lot of action and mystery.

3) I really recommend this book because it has a lot of action involved as I am reading the book. It also shows how Jason is dealing with the issues that he is facing which demonstrate how strong and brave he is.

January 9th

Still Reading

The beginning of this book starts describing the setting; a boring, old, plain town where everything is the same. The main characters dad told the son that everyone in this town is either too dumb to leave or has something pulling them back to stay. The boy mentions how nothing new happens, however he was very wrong. He keeps having a reoccurring dream of him and a girl falling, and he has to hold on with everything he has or something bad will happens. He has had this dream for the past two months and describes the girl in the dream as love before sight.
