It is discussing the night fall upon Macbeth’s household, the night relating to the depth of the dark lurking about due to the fact that the quote states, “witchcraft” which during the time is related to the evils in the world. In this quote, “witchcraft celebrates Pale Hecate's offerings” is approached in more of a formal manner instead of the happiness that is conveyed with the word “celebrates”. This was to represent the dark times that would be approaching Macbeth as the murder is approached in a more serious tone than friendly. In the Renaissance, hecate was viewed as the goddess of the night, the “pale” representing the color of the moon.
