The Netherlands have passed a law which will ban non-electric cars starting in 2025. New car owners would have to buy electric cars while old cars with diesel or petrol-driven motors could still drive on the roads. The government plans to phase out these cars slowly. A majority of representatives in the lower house of parliament supported a motion to ban non-electric vehicles.

Read the article: Netherlands want to ban non-electric cars (english-online.at)

-The article is about law which will ban non-electric cars starting in 2025.

-I've learned The Netherlands have been very innovative when it comes to green transportation.

-I recommend this article to my classmates because laws that are interesting and have a positive impact on the world.

Researchers have discovered a new kind of black hole – one that is not only dormant but also appears to have been born without the explosion of a dying star.

Researchers said recently that the black hole is different from all other known black holes. It is "X-ray quiet" - meaning it does not release powerful X-ray radiation. The presence of x-rays would suggest the black hole was taking in nearby material with its strong gravitational pull. And this black hole was not born in a kind of explosion called a supernova.

Read the article: Scientists Discover Unusual Black Hole (voanews.com)

-This article is about a new discovery that is different than the previous one.

-I've learned that the universe has a lot of unknowns and is always exciting.

-I recommend this article to my classmates because it is an interesting and unique discovery of a black hole.

NASA is launching two more small helicopters to Mars as part of its effort to return Martian rocks and soil samples to Earth.

Under the plan announced in late July, NASA’s Perseverance rover will transport soil samples to a rocket. The rocket will then launch the collected material off the red planet in about 10 years.

The two helicopters being built will help NASA’s Perseverance rover, which is already on Mars. The helicopters will load samples onto the return rocket if NASA’s Perseverance rover breaks down.

Perseverance already has gathered 11 samples with more rock drilling planned. The most recent sample, a sedimentary rock, holds the greatest chance of containing possible evidence of ancient Martian life, said Arizona State University’s Meenakshi Wadhwa. Wadhwa is chief scientist for the retrieval effort.

There’s “a diversity of materials already in the bag, so to speak,” she said, adding that researchers are very excited about bringing the materials back to Earth.

Read the article: NASA to Launch Two More Helicopters to Mars (voanews.com)

-This article is about NASA's exploration of Mars.

-I've learned that NASA's development has always been state-of-the-art.

-I recommend this article to my classmates because it's new to a global organization.
