For some reason it didn’t appeal to me until I started reading it and could not put it down. The way the author created imagery and intrigue within two timelines makes the reader want answers. That’s why I absolutely loved it!
It is about a woman who is quite depressed and decides to end her life. But just before she dies she gets stuck in midnight library, the place between life and death which has endless stories in books about how her life would have turned out if she made a different choice about something. It also has a big, if not the biggest, book of regrets and she can chose which regret she can undo. Once she opens the book she is taken back in time and gets to experience that life and at some point taken back to midnight library. The insight she gives after each life possibility is very unexpected even disappointing to her at times but so eye opening. It gives a very refreshing perspective about what our choices mean and how we see ourselves in deferent circumstances. While reading a book it is impossible not to think about your own life experiences, regrets and contemplate about different outcomes.
