According to studies, they protect villages from storm surges and coastal erosion by acting as natural barriers. Additionally, they support fisheries by serving as nurseries for fish and shrimp, which are vital for both food and income. This shows how local communities are intricately connected to and dependent on their natural surroundings for safety and livelihood.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
