         <description><![CDATA[<div>Born April 20th, 1808 and lived in France. His full name is Charles-Louis Napoleon. Napoleon was elected president in 1848 to 1852. He worked to modernize the French economy and rebuilt the center of Paris. Napoleon founded the Second French Empire. He engaged in the Crimean War and the war for Italian unification. Napoleon fell into exile and died in England in 1873.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Crimean War</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Crimean War was a military conflict fought from October 1853 to February 1856. During the war the Russian Empire lost an alliance with Ottoman Empire, France, Britain and Sardinia. The cause involved the rights of Christian minorities in the Holy Land. The French promoted the rights of Roman Catholics, while Russia Promoted the Eastern Orthodox Church. Long-term causes involved the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the unwillingness of Britain and France to allow Russia to gain territory and power at Ottoman Empire. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Spanish American War</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This war was fought between the United States and Spain in 1898. It was fought in Cuba and Puerto Rico. The main issue was Cuban independence. Revolts had began with Cuban against Spanish rule. The U.S later backed these revolts and the Spanish American War began. This war lasted 10 weeks. The result of this war was the 1898 Treaty of Paris. Negotiated on terms favorable to the U.S which allowed temporary control of Cuba, Puerto Rico , and Guam. The United States gained many islands spanning the globe.</div>]]></description>

These movements are more radical social movements such as revolutionary movements. For Great Britain the Radical movement campaigned for electoral reform. North America had many reformations such as The Hudson River school for art, and the Transcendentalist movement for literature. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Unification of Italy and Germany</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>By 1871 both kingdoms were united. Even though they both used popular trends to that time. Both liberalism and nationalism and the process unifying these countries were very different. Germany was the stronger nation and Italy was the weaker nation. Italy started having problems. Italy then persuaded European powers to fight against Austria. Italy became Unified as one with Germany and had more power.</div>]]></description>
