The reason this lesson plan is important for students is that it helps students develop their imagination in a structured way. This helps the students who struggle with imagery in books and shows how important the setting can be.

This ELA lesson plan allows students to visualize and create a beautiful world that can come from a story. They enact a dramatic story in their head while also calming themselves. After the students are done with the story, we can talk as a class and discuss (and depending on the story, act out) what we read. We could even add an art lesson to this and have the students draw out what they saw in their head as they were using their imagination.
