As teachers, we can help the following strategies for children ADHD through:

  • having a written schedule of all tasks
  • breaking down larger tasks into smaller, more manageable ones
  • keeping school items and toys organized
  • establishing clear and consistent rules
  • rewarding or praising the child when they accomplish tasks
  • using a planner that teachers and caregivers check regularly

Also, encourage children to engage in activities that they enjoy and do well in to boost their self-esteem. Sports and other forms of exercise can provide outlets for high energy levels and enhance the child’s overall well-being.

Children with ADHD might have low self-esteem and anxiety as they could not control. Teachers should be patient with these children and not try to use punishments and shouting towards these children as it might cause more damage towards their self-esteem. Teachers should repeat themselves a few times and ask these children questions. Difficulty listening to others
Difficulty attending to details
Easily distracted
Forgetfulness
Poor organizational skills for age
Poor study skills for age
Impulsivity:Often interrupts others
Has difficulty waiting for his or her turn in school and/or social games
Tends to blurt out answers instead of waiting to be called upon
Takes frequent risks, and often without thinking before acting.

A teacher can help to manage a ADHD child appropriately if the teacher get to better understand the condition of the ADHD child.  
Instead of making the assumption that the child is naughty or ill behavior.
