Many people spoke that they have been traveling for 6 weeks now and Kearny and his troops have reached their destination of New Mexico. A white troop says that Kearny didn't use force, and only persuasion to convince the Mexican troops that he was going to withdraw, so him and his troops took New Mexico without firing one bullet and no harm to any Mexican. After taking New Mexico, Kearny and his troops headed westward towards California. In California, people were led by John Fremont to rebel against the bear flag revolt. Americans arrested the mexican commander and took away the bear flag and made one with a bear and blackberry juice and people from then called it the republic of California. In the end, America has once again expanded its land with nother buying of land and many Mexicans are left with no other chance but to move. When I saw a tall, scary, american general walk into our town, I got mad. That man convinced our troops to withdraw and just took over our area. I was standing in my house nearby the insident and I just stood there. We thought it would help us but in the end it really didn't, it just harmed us. People in america are all happy and joyous because of what general Kearny and his troops have done for this great country. We now have more land here in America and can migrate even more westward.
