The clinic is named Barbra Schlifer because on the night April 11th of 1980, a lawyer Barba Teena Schlifer was celebrating a large milestone in her law career when she was tragically sexually assaulted and murdered in the stairwell of her apartment building. The counselling program was said to work the best for the people who benefited off the programs. The clinic also runs a counselling program which is run in groups or you can sign up for 1 on 1 counselling sessions. These sessions are for people with :

  • physical abuse
  • emotional abuse
  • forced marriage
  • human trafficking
  • family violence
  • financial/economic abuse
  • psychological abuse
  • verbal abuse
  • legal bullying

The interpreters are trained professionals and are experienced in this topic.

Volunteers who decide to work for the programs are put through a 4-6 week training process, so that you know you can rely on the workers since they are educated in the topic.

3.9% of the donation goes to processing fee so approximately 96.1% is effectively donated to the charity. As it is a non profit organization, they need the donations to continue running the clinic

It is a choice on the donation check boxes to cover the 3.9% processing fee. This is simply an easy way to make sure 100% of your donation is effective.
